Below I have created a mind map of what we want- and what an audience would expect- from our band and their music video. Gauntlett stated that there is a lot of room for a 'greater variety of identities to emerge' and the construction of identity is now a 'known requirement'. This influenced me greatly when developing our band identity and thinking about who would fit our band image.
After having researched conventions of our genre, we decided that the look of our actors and their reliability were two of the most important factors. Therefore we decided to use myself and Amber from our band whilst Alistair would do the camerawork for our whole band shots. Our male members are close friends of ours who are willing to put in the time required. Luke, our lead singer, is in a badn himself so he was ideal for the part of our lead singer.
